The Community Arts Council of Prince George & District is thrilled and honoured to support the new Tourism Prince George public art project which seeks artists from across Northern BC to submit Expressions of Interest for an exciting new mural opportunity.
As part of the upcoming Container Market - set to open soon in Canada Games Plaza—this mural will transform one of five shipping containers into a vibrant, welcoming centerpiece. Located on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, this new community hub aims to connect locals and visitors through art, culture, and shared experiences.
Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply - including painters, photographers, illustrators, and mixed-media artists. Proposals from individual artists, partnerships, and collectives are all welcome. Submissions should reflect themes of Inspiration, Connection, and Support and respond creatively to the unique architecture of a C-Can container.
Deadline to apply: April 21, 2025 (midnight)
The selected artist(s) will be awarded a project budget of up to $17,000 for design, materials, and installation. Shortlisted applicants will receive a $200 honorarium for full proposals.
More details, artist eligibility, surface specs, and submission guidelines can be found at this link. Please review carefully before submitting your expression of interest.
Contact our Project Creative Director, Cat Sivertsen, to field any questions/concerns you might have regarding your proposal. Cat can be reached via this email: general@tourismpg.com.
