Local Poet Releases New Publication

Local poet Al Rempel recently launched his latest poetry collection entitled Undiscovered Country at a multi-disciplinary event.

Held at Theatre NorthWest on October 11th, Al’s rendering of a range of selections from the publication was the centrepiece of the night. The event was MC’d by Sean Farrell and included musical selections from local Indigenous musician / artist / writer Clayton Gauthier, a moving spoken word performance by writer K. Darcy Taylor, and a visualisation of one of Al’s poems by dramatist Melissa Glover and a group of her drama pupils.  The event was attended by approximately 50 people, and provided a unique experience for folks sharing an interest in written & spoken word, with an added theatrical touch.

This is Al’s fifth book of poetry following Four Neat Holes, The Picket Fence Diaries, Understories and This Isn’t The Apocalypse We Hoped For.

Undiscovered Country is available at Books & Co and can be ordered online at amazon.ca.
