For anyone wanting to know how to design any form for hand built pottery, or to alter thrown pieces, the Designing Templates Workshop is a great place to start. The discussion portion will cover the whys and hows of template design considerations before participants use their new knowledge to create custom pieces for themselves. Whether potters want repeatable consistency or to create something unique, knowing how to make and use a well planned template is a valuable tool to add to your skillset.
Prerequisite: Previous experience with hand building; understanding of the properties of clay.
